These Creative Profiles are a lot like Presets. In some ways they are even better. Or maybe I should just say that they make Presets better. The Creative Profiles are a great way to enhance your photos. I often talk with people who are aware of them, but they are not using them.
NOTE You can find the Creative Profiles by clicking the four-rectangle icon at the top of the Basic panel. It is located right under “Black & White.”
It’s a huge deal. If you want to apply a preset in Lightroom, it will move your sliders to the “preset” setting. Using a Creative Profile does not move any sliders (see below).
You can then apply a Creative Profile and start tweaking the image without affecting its appearance (if you first apply a Preset and then move the sliders within the preset it will change the preset’s look). You can apply a Preset and then apply Creative Profiles to your image, without messing with the Preset. This is a completely separate way to give an image a new look without messing up your sliders, or any presets you have applied. Huge!
