Replacing “Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic” with Your Custom Logo or Text: A How-To Guide

This is a quick and easy way to change the default text in the upper left corner of the Lightroom Classic window. You can replace it with your own text or logo.

STEP 1: If you are using a Mac computer, go to the Lightroom Classic menu (as shown above) and select ‘Identity Plate Setup …’. On Windows PCs this is under the Edit menu.

STEP 2: This opens the Identity Plate Editor, as shown above. Choose Personalized from the menu in the upper left corner (as shown here).

You have two options for replacing the Lightroom Logo with your custom logo. You can type the name of your photo studio in (this is the default option), or you can drag the image to the black rectangle to the left (just under the two buttons). That’s it. Click OK — boom — you’re done. Your logo will now appear in the upper left corner.

TIP Lightroom interface is all black, so to make your logo blend in you will need to:

(a). Place your logo onto a black background and then bring it into Lightroom.

(b). Place your logo in Photoshop on a background that is transparent. Then, delete the background layer and save it in the.png file format. This format maintains transparency in Lightroom. This is a link to a tutorial I did some years ago on how to create this transparent logo.

NOTE What size should your graphic be? You can’t make your graphic bigger than 41 pixels. I made mine 200 pixels wide. If you think that the logo will look good in a wider format, then you can go broader, just as long as it doesn’t get deeper than 41.

I hope you found this little tip useful. Have a great weekend, y’all. Stay safe.

P.S. On my other blog, I wrote a post today about where I would go to take travel photos if all of this COVID stuff suddenly disappeared. If you have a minute, here’s the link.
