Rearranging Panels in Lightroom Classic: A Step-by-Step Guide

You can reorder your panels so that the ones you use most are at the top and the least used panels at the bottom. bottom. Here’s how:

STEP 1: Click on the panel name at the top and then right-click. A pop-up window will appear with options. Select “Customize Development Panel” (as displayed above).

Above This will bring up the Default Order of Panels. The checkboxes to the right indicate which panels are visible.

STEP 2: Drag the panel to the desired position in the list by clicking and dragging the name. You can see that I am dragging the Effects panel higher up in the list. When it is directly below “Tone Curve”, you will see a thin, blue line. You can release your mouse button once it appears. The panel will appear in the order you have chosen. Click the “Save” button when you are done dragging panels into the desired order.

NOTE If you decide to change your mind and return to the default ordering, just click on the button ‘Default Order” at the bottom.

STEP THREEE:After clicking ‘Save’, a dialog box will appear. This tells you that you must restart Lightroom for the changes to take effect.

Above: This is the new order after reordering. You can return to the default ordering in this same Customize dialog. This is all you need to do.
