Hello everyone! It’s great to be back after a fun-filled, wild week at Photoshop world. This is a photo of the keynote address above, taken by Brad Moore.
This is a quick tip that’s aimed at those who use lightroom mobile on their phone or tablet, but don’t have access to the Internet.
It’s possible to use a feature that lets you download Smart Previews directly from any collection that’s been synced to your device. This is much faster than having Lightroom pull down the previews when you begin editing. It uses your Internet connection when you begin editing an image to download a higher-resolution Smart Preview so that you can edit the image. This is how to activate this feature (you’ll need an Internet connection in order to use this feature).
STEP 1: Click on the three dots at the bottom-right corner of the thumbnail of your cover (see the image above, circled red in the lower left hand corner).
STEP 2: Flip the Collection tile to reveal different options. Then click “Enable Offline Editing”, and the Smart Previews will be sent to you while you are still connected to the Internet.
You can edit while on a plane, train, or anywhere else without a live Internet link.
