Exploring Why the Apple iPad Pro is Ideal for DSLR and Mirrorless Photographers Using Mobile Lightroom

I talk to many people who aspire to creating mobile workflows using an iPad, yet are frustrated by the import process – something which has long been my Achilles heel; however, recent improvements to Lightroom and an iPad Pro feature finally make this seamless and effortless.

Here are two factors that made an impactful statement about mobile workflow:

Now you can import directly from your camera’s memory card into Lightroom without first using Camera Roll and then having to reimport. Just import directly into Lightroom without going through a single step between camera roll and Lightroom!

The iPad Pro features a USB-C port, making it possible for you to use any card reader that meets that standard; thus removing Apple’s restriction to SD cards as your only import option. Instead, your desktop workflow can still utilize any card reader compatible with USB-C – giving you access to Compact Flash Cards, XQD cards or whatever cards may be part of its usual routine.

Lightroom on Mobile has dramatically evolved as a product in recent years, becoming even better as time progressed. While its usability on any mobile device remains excellent, iPad Pro users are particularly fond of it! So if you have been waiting for an easy workflow for editing photos on the go – wait no further – because everything has now fallen into place smoothly and seamlessly for editing images on-the-go!

Photoshop is now on iPad! And its experience has improved immensely since its first introduction last year – now giving access to both Lightroom and Photoshop workflows from anywhere! Congratulations Adobe!
