Kicking Off Lightroom Mobile Week

Hello, everyone! This week’s focus will be on the great new features Adobe added to Lightroom Mobile with the latest update. This week I will cover each feature separately. But before I do, I want to mention that Adobe has made some great changes to the policy regarding who can use Lightroom.

Lightroom mobile is now for everybody!
Previously, you had to be a Creative Cloud subscriber to be able to use Lightroom Mobile, but when Adobe released this latest update, they also announced that now anybody can download and use Lightroom Mobile for free for editing their mobile images.
If you are not a CC member, you cannot sync your images with Lightroom desktop. You can only edit the images on your mobile device. Even if you don’t have a CC subscription, you can still edit your mobile images with Lightroom Mobile.

Dehaze is now available in LR Mobile for IOS
It’s the most popular new feature to arrive in Lightroom over the past few years. Now it’s also available in Lightroom Mobile, which is compatible with the iPhone and iPad.

Tap once on the lens icon to the left of the screen. This will bring up an additional list of adjustments. At the bottom, you’ll find the Dehaze.

It works very much like Dehaze in Lightroom (before it was added to the Adjustment Brush), which is a simple slider. Tap once on the Dehaze tile in order to bring up the slider. Dragging it to right reduces the haze, as seen here; dragging it left makes it look foggy. It’s pretty straightforward and works well in most situations (here, I didn’t like the effect it had on the sky because I’d already used it in Lightroom CC).

NOTE This update added three new features to the Android version of Lightroom Mobile, which are already available in the iOS version. The Tone Curve, the Vignette Effect and the HSL/Color Adjustments are all included.

LightroomKillerTips is kicking off “Lightroom Mobile Week”.
